Re: New Financial Policy

For the last several months, the band boosters have been discussing the problem of non-payment of fees from marching band students. In the school year 2002-2003, the band boosters did not receive payments totaling $168.50 from those students. Currently, the outstanding payments total $684.00 and this involves 10 of the members. Obviously, we can't allow this problem to continue. Therefore, we have enacted a new financial policy for marching band members.

The total payment of $135.00 for band camp and uniform cleaning fee is due by the first day of band camp, unless prior arrangements have been made. If you would like to make monthly payments, that is fine. This would be helpful if you have 2 or more students who march or if this would work better in your family's budget. Please contact Karen Sikorski, treasurer, at 375-2558 to make payment arrangements. If the total payment or monthly payment arrangements has not been made by the start of band camp, then that student's spot will be removed from the show.

During band camp, the students order their marching shoes, gloves, and garment bags (first year members only for the bags.) It has been decided that at least ½ of the total amount needs to be paid when these items are ordered and the balance is due upon delivery, which is usually in August.

If there is a financial need in your family, please contact Mr. Staats to discuss the matter. We certainly don't want money problems to keep a student from participating, but we can't help that student if we aren't aware of the problem. This information would be kept confidential and arrangements can be made to help you.

If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Staats at WHS or Cindy Farr, president for 2006-2007 school year, at 375-2733. Thank you.
